Create motion from still images with zoom, pan, and parallax

Use Grafiq Motion Effects to turn still images into simple motion clips with zoom, pan, frame blend, and parallax-style movement.

Motion Effects overview

A still image can feel more alive when it slowly zooms, pans, or shifts with a subtle motion effect. Grafiq Motion Effects gives you a local desktop workflow for creating simple motion clips from images.

Use it for family photos, slideshow inserts, thumbnails, short social clips, presentation media, video backgrounds, or creative experiments.

What Motion Effects is for

Motion Effects is useful when you want to turn a still image into a short video or animated result. Instead of a static photo, you can create movement with zoom, pan, frame blending, or depth-style effects.

Local-first note: Motion Effects works on your computer. You do not need to upload personal photos to an online animation or motion-effect service.

How to create a simple zoom or pan effect

  1. Open Motion Effects.
In Grafiq, open More → Motion Effects.
  2. Choose an image.
Select the photo, scan, screenshot, or graphic you want to animate.
  3. Choose a motion type.
Pick a motion effect such as smooth zoom, pan, or another available motion option.
  4. Set the duration.
Choose how long the motion clip should be.
  5. Adjust the motion amount.
Use the available controls to make the movement subtle or stronger.
  6. Preview the result.
Preview the motion before creating the final export.
  7. Export the motion clip.
Save the result as a new file.
Simple rule: Subtle motion usually looks better than extreme motion. A slow zoom or gentle pan can make a still photo feel polished without distracting from the image.

How to use depth or parallax-style motion

Depth-style motion can make a still image feel more dimensional by shifting parts of the image in a way that suggests foreground and background movement. This type of effect works best on images with a clear subject and background separation.

  1. Choose a photo with a clear subject.
Photos with a person, object, or strong foreground/background separation usually work best.
  2. Open Motion Effects.
Add the photo to Motion Effects.
  3. Choose the depth or parallax option.
Select the available depth/parallax-style motion effect.
  4. Keep the movement moderate.
Smaller movement often looks more natural than exaggerated movement.
  5. Preview carefully.
Watch edges, faces, and background details to make sure the motion still looks acceptable.
  6. Export the result.
Save the motion clip as a new file.
