What Converter is for

Converter is useful when you need a file in a different format for sharing, editing, uploading, archiving, or compatibility. Instead of using several separate tools, Grafiq gives you a simple built-in conversion workflow.

• Convert supported image files to JPEG, PNG, WEBP, BMP, or TIFF.
• Convert supported video files to MP4.
• Save converted files to a default Converted folder or choose a custom output folder.

How to convert images in Grafiq

1. Open Converter.
   In Grafiq, open Converter from the sidebar or choose File → Converter.
2. Select image files.
   Choose the image files you want to convert. For the simplest workflow, select only image files in one run.
3. Choose an output format.
   Pick the format you want, such as JPEG, PNG, WEBP, BMP, or TIFF.
4. Choose an output folder.
   Use the default Converted folder or choose a custom destination.
5. Start conversion.
   Run the conversion and wait for Grafiq to write the converted files.
6. Check the results.
   Open the output folder and confirm the converted files look right.

How to convert videos to MP4

1. Open Converter.
   Open Converter from Grafiq.
2. Select video files.
   Choose the supported video files you want to convert. For the simplest workflow, select only video files in one run.
3. Choose MP4 output.
   Grafiq converts supported videos to MP4.
4. Choose the output folder.
   Use the default Converted folder or select a custom destination.
5. Start conversion.
   Grafiq shows progress while the video conversion runs.
6. Cancel if needed.
   If a video conversion is taking too long or you picked the wrong file, use the cancel option during processing when available.
7. Review the exported MP4.
   Open the converted MP4 to confirm video and audio playback.

Windows PDF-to-JPG workaround for Photo Splitter

On Mac, Grafiq Photo Splitter can open scanned PDFs directly. On Windows, Photo Splitter works from image files, so Converter can be used as a workaround when your scanner saved photo sheets as PDFs.

1. Open Converter.
   Choose the scanned PDF you want to prepare.
2. Convert the PDF page to JPG.
   Export the scanned page as a JPG image.
3. Open Photo Splitter.
   Load the exported JPG into Photo Splitter.
4. Split the photos.
   Run Auto-Detect, adjust crop boxes if needed, and export separate JPG or PNG files.
